Elsie B Carter Skate Park

Open Year-Round (Weather Permitting)
Monday - Sunday, Dawn to Dusk

Address: 204 S. 3rd Street, La Grange, Kentucky, 40031

The Elsie B Carter Skate Park is named after former Mayor Elsie Carter. Construction began in 2023, and the Skate Park opened in 2024.  Located in the lower section/phase two of Springs Park near downtown historic La Grange, the Skate Park is free for all ages.

The park is 9,000 sq ft and includes a flow bowl with a mini ramp, island, roll in, deep end of 7′, and long diamond grind coping straight walls. A street extension extends the length of the site and over the stream in a creek gap. Yes, there is a spring, and it’s a peek a boo situation where you might find a skatepark builder’s art decorating the spring site. We used the spring as our inspiration for the decorative moments in the park, including the stained stamp and creek jump. Artist Matthew McDole added a few painted touches of wildlife commonly found around the woods and the spring.
