Public Works Department

502-222-8954 or City Hall 502-222-1433.

The Public Works Department is responsible for street maintenance, which includes pothole repair, paving and snow and ice removal. Residents are responsible for the construction and repair of sidewalks. The Public Works Department picks up brush and limbs in designated areas of the City on each Monday of every month.

This service is provided to aid property owners in the upkeep of their property, not for professional lawn care or tree trimming services. The individuals or companies who provide these services are responsible for the clean up of brush and limbs. Leaf pickup is also provided by the Public Works Department in the fall and winter on as needed basis. The leaves must be bagged and placed at the curb. If they are not picked up in a timely manner, please contact us. Please do not rake leaves onto the public right of way or into culverts or ditches.

The maintenance and mowing of the parks in the City of La Grange is also handled by the Public Works Department. If you would like to reserve the pavilion at any of our parks, please call City Hall at 222-1433. If you are a resident of the City, there is a $50.00 deposit required to reserve any of the pavilions for residents, but $25.00 it is refunded after your event, provided all garbage is removed and the park is left in the same condition you found it For non-residents the deposit is $60.00 with $30.00 of that being refunded providing the garbage is removed and the park is left in the same condition.
Encroachment permits are obtained through the Public Works Department. These permits are needed for any entrance on City streets before driveways or any excavating, digging or utility installations are started. These permits are needed before applying for building permits at Planning and Zoning. As of ORDINANCE NO. 4 SERIES 2016 provides that the City of LaGrange will be charging one hundred dollars ($100.00) for all encroachment permits. All commercial applicants will be required to submit a plat having been prepared, signed and certified, by an engineer that is registered to do business in the State of Kentucky. All permits are handled at City Hall.

Please report any downed limbs, sidewalks that need repair, potholes or any other problems that you may see. Thank you for your help.
